Cipro
Ciprofloxacin is an antimicrobial agent used in systemic therapy. It belongs to fluoroquinolones. The drug Ciprofloxacin is recommended for the treatment of complicated and uncomplicated infections provoked by pathogens that are sensitive to ciprofloxacin. The drug is prescribed for bacterial infections. It inhibits the growth of pathogens that cause infectious diseases.
Before starting treatment
Before starting treatment with a drug, you should carefully read the description of the medication and be sure to consult with your doctor. The dosage regimen and the duration of the use of the drug are set individually, depending on the severity of the pathological process and its location, indications, as well as the sensitivity and type of infectious agent. In some cases, additional use of other antimicrobial drugs is necessary.
The way of intake
The tablets are swallowed whole and washed down with a small amount of liquid. The drug can be consumed regardless of the meal, but it is noted that on an empty stomach, acceleration of the absorption of ciprofloxacin occurs. In cases where the patient is not able to take pills, it is advised to perform parenteral therapy with a ciprofloxacin infusion solution, and after the onset of improvement, proceed to treatment with a tablet form of the drug.
Contraindications
Use of the drug Ciprofloxacin is contraindicated in persons under the age of 18, women in the lactation period and during pregnancy, people with a deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, highly sensitive to ciprofloxacin, substances from the quinoline group, or any other component of the drug.
